I have been a fan of Nick and Andee ever since Mr. Benjamin first encountered this client who needed more than a pair of eyes and a sonorous baritone voice. They have found their way into my heart and I am panting to see what they get up to next! Ashlynn Kenzie has created a world of mischief, love, and discipline in her beloved Tennessee mountains and I want to move right in! There is a great deal of spanking in them there hills, as well as a lot of spicy loving to balance it all out. Andee is fun-loving and endearing and Nick is everything a dominant husband should be. A city girl moves from LA to the country, in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains. There is a lot to learn for this new bride when her husband decides to return to the cabin he knew in his youth and build a life for his family. He is a strong believer in domestic discipline and so Andee must heed his warnings about the dangers of living in a remote area, something she is not used to. Unfortunately she often dismisses advice she should heed and this results in some old fashioned bottom warming consequences. The writing is clear and vivid, the dialog spot on and the spanking scenes are lovingly described -- first rate, as are the sex scenes, which are very hot without being overly graphic or mechanical. The addition of another couple who are beginners at DD sweetens the mix. This novel is less an integral story and more a series of vignettes that collectively paint a picture of a couple striving to cement their marriage through the magic of loving discipline.
Excellent Read !! Loved the way the story unfolds and the love between the two couples. Got love a friend that will cause mischief and get spanked with you. Wooden spoons, belts, straps and a woodshed whats not to love.
So here is my confession, I didn’t read the first two books in this series. Do not feel like you have to do so before reading this one, although I wish I had. This book gives the reader a peek into the life of a couple with a beautiful baby who practice DD. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It kept me involved and wondering what was going to happen next. This is a feel good story that has me adding Books 1 and 2 in this series to my reading list.
First of all was the wonderful introduction by Maggie Ryan, which sets the mood of this awesome book by Ashlynn Kenzie. I read the first two books in this series Reading Her Heart and Leading Her home. This third gave me some closure and although it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first two books to get a better feel for the characters. We all have some fears and in this book explains it brilliantly how not dealing with your fears does more damage which ends up worse. There are two strong loving men who adore their sassy, feisty women and use Domestic Discipline when needed. The two main woman are old friends and manage to get into trouble whenever they are together and the secondary character are also well developed. I hope, hint, hint, that the author writes a fourth book to learn how the characters are doing.
I didn't get to read the first two books but didn't feel deprived of any of the story. There is a forward from the author giving a summary of the two previous books but I think this could have stood alone. Nick and Andee are dealing with the birth of a baby and all that entails is wrapped up in the romance and discipline of Andee. I want to go back and find out how the story begins.
I read this series from book one, where Andee lost her power of vision. She regained it, more or less, by book two. But it was Nick Benjamin who has really been opening her eyes, all the way through, so that she can see her responsibilities, but also her needs and desires. This is a thoroughly fulfilling romantic journey, both for the protagonists and their readers. I highly recommend you start with the first volume and follow the natural, and naturally bottom warming, progression of Nick and Andee's unusual relationship from the start. I was going to say, start to finish, but I cannot imagine that these two are at all finished, and I dare to hope that someday there will be a volume four. I dearly look forward to that day. In the 3rd book of the series, we find Andee and Nick settling into their marriage at a cabin home. Andee and her dad are gaining a better relationship. Andee's best friend is discovering a new relationship with a man much like Nick. Andee continues to push Nick's buttons while putting herself in more danger. In turn, Nick continues to show Andee the error of her ways. I was sorry that this was the last book in the series. I wanted more from Ms. Kenzie, Andee, and of course the handsome, stern Nick! Once again, well done Ms. Kenzie!
